A 2020 World Economic Forum article started with a very promising headline that said: Africa "will be worth $5.6 trillion within 5 years - but only if it accelerates its policy reforms". 5.6 trillion dollars by 2025? It sounds huge? Right?
Well, let's put it into perspective. In the next 4 years, Africa's population is projected to reach 1.5 billion people and with our net worth set to reach 5.6 trillion dollars, it means that each African would be worth 3733 USD by 2025.
Each African would be worth less than 4000 USD in the next 4 years? And we call it promising?
The American company - Apple is worth 2 trillion dollars currently and dividing that amount by the current population of the USA gives us a valuation of 6042 USD for every American citizen. This means that if Apple's valuation is shared equally among all American's, they would still be worth more than our promising future projections in the next 5 years.
Simply put, the math doesn't make sense. The difference is just STAGGERING! In the race of global development, we are far behind.
The world's best projections for us are substandard and terrible. We cannot continue at this pace. Doing our best is no more enough! We need more than our best. We need something more.
As the next generation of leaders, we have to be BOLD, UNFLINCHING, SHREWD, AUDACIOUS, DARING, and DECISIVE in all we do. We need to be all of these and much more!
To move from this current standard, We need to have BOLD ideas, make BRAVE choices, take AUDACIOUS risks. We cannot continue to settle for less or better than less.
We need more of these leaders who would fill these gaps. We need you! What if we all made that deliberate attempt to have the audacity to dare to be different? What if we started to challenge the status quo in our little way?
Oh, remember, our little way is NOT enough! We need more!

I became more self aware and I got to the bottom of why I stammer. Apparently, my stammer was self-imposed and thinking through it made me challenge that notion.
