Christmas is long gone, yet Isaiah 9:6 has been ringing in my head. Today, I got a beautiful perspective by listening to Joe Mettle and Francis Osei's praise medley.

Isaiah 9:6 (KJV) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

In the context of this particular verse, we see Isaiah speaking in a situation where the people of Judah felt powerless. It seemed as though their enemies (and problems) were just growing from strength to strength.

Their challenges might have been suffocating them with little to no breathing room. To make matters worse, it felt like God in particular had abandoned them. Was God "for" or "against" them?

In His response, God promised them a long-term solution. One that would span generations. The solution would come in the form of Jesus and be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Are you tired? Do you feel as though the problems you're facing are unbearable? We were never promised an easy life, but we have been given the assurance of a solution. That solution was born a child and yet a king.
